If you are building a house or thinking about renovating your sound system, you should consider the Adastra built-in speakers.

For over 70 years in the market, Adastra offers sound systems for all types of installations.

Discover the advantages of the solutions Adastra, the exclusive brand Aquário.

Factors to consider when choosing speakers

No, you don't have to be a conductor or have any profession related to music to know how to appreciate good sound! Much less to be able to choose the best speakers.

However, we know that the task may not be easy. To help, we highlight some points and values that you should take into account to know how to evaluate the potential quality of a speaker.

  • DB – decibels. The higher this number, the better. This value is responsible for the sensitivity, that is, it influences the amplifier's effort to obtain a certain volume of sound. Therefore, the more decibels, the lower the distortion level.
  • Hz – hertz. The human ear can discriminate sounds between 20 Hz (the lowest frequency) and 20,000 Hz (the highest frequency). This is the unit of measurement that expresses, in cycles per second, the frequency of a periodic event, oscillations or rotations per second and that you will find in the Frequency Response specifications.
  • Ohm - unit of measurement of electrical resistance. In the case of speakers, the impedance varies between 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32 Ohms. The most common will be 4 Ohms or 8 Ohms. The higher the value, the better. Higher values require less amplifier power.
  • W – watts. This is the unit of power, in the case of sound. It will be very important to bear in mind that high values are not necessarily synonymous with sound quality. On the other hand, the higher the peak watts, the better.
  • Ways - the lower frequencies need to move large amounts of air and are best reproduced in larger speakers. Higher frequencies need to create movement in the air more quickly and are best reproduced in smaller speakers. Thus, the speakers are built with different loudspeakers, or tracks, so that each one can reproduce the most suitable frequency range. Usually the columns have 2 ways. If they have 3 ways, the better the perception of sounds.

What types of Adastra columns are there?

Adastra has a wide range of loudspeakers, with each range covering different needs. And, of course, also different budgets.

At Aquário you will findrecessed/embedded Adastra speakers from 9,79€ to 58,70€.

Depending on the amount you want to spend, the type of space and area available to install them, the specifications, as well as the aesthetic features you like best, you can choose the following models:

  • Ceiling Columns - are ideal for places with little space and where you want the columns to be “discreet”. The cables are hidden in the ceiling, so there is no interference with the useful area of the room or even with the decoration. Generally speaking, these speakers are circular and emit directional sound.
  • Water resistant columns - suitable for Pa installations in swimming pools and rooms where humidity is abundant, such as in bathrooms.
